Is It Too Late to Start Searching for Jon Collins-Black’s Treasure?

It’s been fascinating diving into the world of treasure hunting inspired by Jon Collins-Black’s new book, There’s Treasure Inside. I’ve been poring over tips and theories shared by other fans, and while it’s exciting to see so many people connecting over this shared adventure, it’s also left me feeling a bit downcast about our chances.

Plus, I got scratched up on our last “hunt”. Treasure hunting spoiler – we didn’t find anything at Kannapolis State Park in Kansas. 😆.

We did not actually think there was a treasure hidden in Kansas. We hadn’t even started reading the book yet – we just wanted to go on a pretty fancy hike.

Back to the treasure hunt. It turns out, a lot of the ideas we’ve come up with are far from unique. Many other hunters have had the same thoughts, and some of them are already out there, actively searching. In fact, from what I’ve read, some trails are seeing massive increases in visitors, which is both amazing and daunting. It makes me wonder if our February trip is even worth it. Are we just going to be retracing someone else’s steps? Or showing up too late altogether? So much for my daydream of being like Artemis in Ready Player One! (Super smart and the first to discover the location of a treasure!)

On an up note, we have some theories about the Bitcoin box as well that we might try to look into sometime! Travel is hard with two young kids, so hopefully the people theorizing this hunt will take years are right!
